About

The MHA program is designed to equip individuals for pivotal administrative roles, guiding them to executive positions within complex health organizations.  It aligns with Wayne State’s Prosperity Agenda and reinforces the university’s commitment to outreach, engagement, and financial sustainability. The curriculum is rigorously designed to focus on both strategic and operational management, thus orienting students toward the broad spectrum of managerial challenges and functions likely to be encountered by health organizations.

All courses will follow an accelerated format consisting of seven weeks of instruction per course.  Each course will be delivered online (asynchronously) with several virtual (synchronous) components throughout the program except for the internship and study abroad courses which with will be delivered in person and the capstone course which will be delivered in a hybrid (synchronous and asynchronous) mode.

The degree combines coursework with applied experiences, equipping students with essential skills in:

  • Measuring the quality of care in health facilities
  • Budget funding and financial management
  • Information management
  • Research and data analytics
  • Operational Management
