Andrew Echt
Director of Applebaum Family Philanthropy, Chief Operating Officer of Applebaum Ventures
Andrew Echt is the Director of Applebaum Family Philanthropy and the Chief Operating Officer of Applebaum Ventures, LLC., the holding company that oversees the Applebaum financial ventures including real estate, private and philanthropic investments.
Echt became the first Director of Applebaum Family Philanthropy in 2014, and is responsible for advancing and stewarding the family philanthropic vision and community legacy. In the position of Chief Operating Officer, he leads the strategic operating direction for Applebaum Ventures, with a primary focus on organizational management and business relations.
Prior to his current post, Echt spent 20 years as an executive professional in the philanthropic and nonprofit sector. He served as the Chief Financial Resource Development Officer of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit from 2005-14.
Echt graduated from the Sol Drachler Program in Jewish Communal Leadership at the University of Michigan where he earned a master's in Social Work and a certificate in Judaic Studies and received a bachelor of arts in History from the University of Michigan.
