Gregory A. Wernette retired as Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer and Corporate Secretary of Level One Bank, where he worked from 2007-23. Prior to becoming one of the founders of Level One Bank, Wernette spent 21 years with Comerica Bank, most recently as First Vice President and Group Manager in Middle Market Banking. Wernette received his B.S.B.A. in Finance from Central Michigan University and his MBA with a concentration in Accounting from Wayne State University.

Wernette serves on the Board of the Farmington Family YMCA, chairing their capital campaign committee and as vice-chairman for the Board of Visitors of the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Wayne State University. He is a member of the Michigan Bankers Association, the Detroit chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth, and the Detroit Athletic Club.
