100 Faces of WSU Applebaum
WSU Applebaum is celebrating two milestone events during the 2024-25 academic year: 100 years of pharmacy education in the heart of Detroit, and 50 years of pharmacy and health sciences programs combining under one college, with students learning side by side to broaden their perspectives as they work toward contributing to interprofessional teams throughout the course of their careers.
In honor of this occasion, we asked WSU Applebaum’s deans, chairs and program directors to share lists of standout alumni, who we then invited to complete surveys. Thank you to everyone who shared college memories and career updates throughout the course of our 100 Faces of WSU Applebaum project!
Without doubt, there are far more than 100 people who have contributed to the growth, heart and excellence of the college over the past 100 years. The 100 alumni you see here represent thousands of students who have learned in our classrooms, explored in our labs, graduated with degrees and headed out into the world to make a difference.
It must be noted that so many of our brightest graduates have returned to teach and lead — or have never left — making their mark on the future of their profession by guiding students generation after generation. While we turned our gaze outside the college to identify alumni for this project, we are grateful to all of those who returned or stayed with the college over time.
Because this project was a year in the making, people have come and gone and the college itself continues to evolve — adding another degree program in the meantime. The Bachelor of Science in Applied Health Sciences launched this fall, so of course there are no BSAHS graduates to include — yet!
Just as the college evolves, so do our graduates, who continue to impress us as they grow in their careers and step into leadership positions, earn awards and take advantage of opportunities to make a difference in their respective fields.
WSU Applebaum will continue to share stories of graduates on our website, in newsletters, on social media and elsewhere. If you'd like to be featured, bring us up to date! Fill out our Alumni Q&A form or reach out to Community Engagement Specialist Tiffany Cusmano.
