Cruise Celebrates a History of Diversity
"A Cruise to Celebrate a History of Diversity" leaves Aug. 29 aboard the Infinity Yacht in Detroit. The Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Wayne State University (WSU), is sponsoring this entertaining experience from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. to benefit the EACPHS Diversity Advisory Board Endowed Scholarship.
The College's Diversity Advisory Board established the Endowed Scholarship Fund in 2007. "The scholarship is intended to encourage diversity within the college, "said Sidney Barthwell, Jr., board chair. "But, more importantly, the scholarship provides the impetus for student to pursue their professional goals in the vital health sciences."
Cruising the international waters of the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair, guests will observe the scenic, illuminated skylines of Detroit and Canada on a summer's evening and feast on mouth-watering cuisine. The Detroit female jazz group Straight Ahead featuring Marion Hayden will provide the entertainment.
The event is open to alumni and friends of the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Reservations for the cruise can be made on line (click here) or call WSU Special Events and Services at (313) 577-0300. The cost is $125/person or $200/couple.
If you are unable to attend but would like to make a tax-deductible donation to this scholarship, please visit "give online" and select EACPHS Diversity Advisory Board Endowed Scholarship Fund.
