Grad students needed for focus groups about dogs on campus

Wayne State University Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences faculty members Rosanne DiZazzo-Miller and Christine Johnson are seeking full-time Wayne State graduate students as research participants for their study that examines perceptions and experiences with dogs on campus.

Focus groups will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, Wednesday, Dec. 5, and Wednesday, Dec. 12. If you're a full-time graduate student in any program at Wayne State, please see below for full details and how to participate.

Graduate Student Perceptions and Experiences with Dogs on Campus

Eligibility for all participants:

  • Student enrolled in full-time course load as a graduate student
  • Study description: Volunteers will be asked to engage in conversation through a focus group with investigators and peers regarding perceptions of animal assisted activity programming. All study details and the opportunity to have any study related questions answered will be provided during the consent process.

    Long term study goals: To better understand the interest of college students in engaging in animal assisted activity (AAA) programming as well as the factors that will be important to consider in development of an AAA program.

    Time commitment: A single focus group lasting approximately 45 to 60 minutes

    Location: Classroom in Wayne State University Department of Health Care Sciences, 259 Mack Ave, Detroit, MI 48201

    Compensation: All participants will receive refreshments and snacks during focus groups as well as an opportunity to win a $50 gift card through raffle.
