Grad students needed for Jan. 23 focus group about dogs on campus

Wayne State University Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences faculty members Rosanne DiZazzo-Miller and Christine Johnson are seeking full-time Wayne State graduate students as research participants for their study that examines perceptions and experiences with dogs on campus. Full-time graduate students in any program at Wayne State who participate in a focus group on Friday, Jan. 23, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. have the chance to win a $50 gift card. Eligibility for all participants: Students enrolled in full-time course load as a graduate student
Study description: Volunteers will be asked to engage in conversation through a focus group with investigators and peers regarding perceptions of animal-assisted activity programming. All study details and the opportunity to have any study related questions answered will be provided during the consent process.
Long term study goals: To better understand the interest of college students in engaging in animal-assisted activity (AAA) programming as well as the factors that will be important to consider in the development of an AAA program.
Date: Jan. 23, 2019
Time commitment: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (approximately 1 hour)
Location: Occupational Therapy Conference Room, EACPHS, 259 Mack Ave, Detroit, MI 48201
Compensation: All participants will receive refreshments and snacks during focus groups as well as an opportunity to win a $50 gift card through a raffle.
