The Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) is proud to announce the return of PHOP - Parker's House of Pancakes. The much-awaited fundraiser takes place Thursday, March 9, in the Student Commons from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The SNPhA student pharmacists will be joining their faculty advisor, Dr. Dennis Parker, to serve up a delicious brunch for hungry students, faculty and staff in the Applebaum Building.

"I joined SNPhA to be a part of an organization that gives back to the community and advocates for leadership and empowering the pharmacy profession," said Musa Yahia, SNPhA treasurer. "I'm very excited for the return of PHOP as it's a big tradition for SNPhA that I heard about but never really got the chance to experience because of COVID. It'll be really fun finally getting to see Dr. Parker make some of his famous pancakes."

"One of the difficult things about the pandemic was the effect of social distancing to limit student engagement activities. After three long years, I am thrilled that we can once again continue PHOP, which has been an annual springtime tradition since 2011," said Parker. "PHOP has been the primary fundraiser for SNPhA, which is a student org geared toward service to the local community in Detroit. I hope everyone can come by and enjoy my cooked-to-order, signature-recipe pancakes, hash browns, sausage and bacon. I am looking forward to once again coming together in the commons to enjoy good food and good company for a good cause!"

Zachary Grossklaus, SNPhA Project Keepsake chairman, added, "Dr. Parker will be serving blueberry, buttermilk, and chocolate chip pancakes with maple syrup, butter, whipped cream, and fruit topping. PHOP will also have bacon, halal sausage and hash browns, as well as coffee and juice, all at an affordable price. We hope everyone can come out today to support SNPhA and enjoy a great meal!"
