PharmD Program Celebrates Anniversary on Sept. 25
On September 25, the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.
"The early years of this program were an exciting time as faculty and adventuresome students inititated the beginnings of patient -focused clinical pharmacy services," said Lloyd Young, Dean of the College.
A number of alumni in these early (PharmD) classes have distinguished themselves and the College through outstanding, nationally recognized careers. Included among these alumni is Paul Munzenberger, former associate professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, who retired in May following a 40-year association and career with Wayne State University. Muzenberger will be "roasted" at this special anniversary event.
In addition, Sr. Emmanuael (Schoatt) and Dean Emeritus Martin Barr, who were both visionaries for the clinical pharmacy movement, will be joined by other notable alumni and guests in this celebration.
Those wishing to attend this celebration on September 25 at the Motor City Casino Hotel can call (313) 577-0820, email at rls@wayne.edu or click invitation. Please RSVP by 5 p.m., Sept. 21.
