We asked physical therapy faculty members about how their lives at work and at home had been affected since the novel coronavirus was declared a pandemic in March 2020.

Main mission:

My mission as a teacher is to inspire the student to reach their highest potential as a person as well as a physical therapist. My research tries to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice.

A positive outcome of the pandemic:

I have managed to teach orthopedic special tests online as well as coordinate 33 hourlong virtual practical exams for our final capstone course.

A challenging aspect of the pandemic:

Working through my mental block of using new technology, home-schooling my daughters while teaching at the same time, and trying to convince my students to use their videocam during our synchronous virtual classes ;-)

Recent program or research advisee achievements:

Seeing the students work diligently toward studying for their board exam and seeing them receive very encouraging and strong results on the simulated board examination.

Recent personal achievement:

Running the virtual Crushing Corona 50K (time of 4:20).
