Q: What are three words that best describe you?

A: Fun, outgoing, dedicated.

Q: What are your hobbies and interests?

A: I love playing sports like basketball and volleyball with my friends and family. I also love to bake and started a side job making hot chocolate bombs for the holidays. I run a business with my family as well.

Q: Why did you choose Wayne State University?

A: I chose Wayne State because it's a school that I know puts in so much dedication to not only their students but faculty as well. They are dedicated to helping their students achieve their goals.

Q: Why did you choose pharmacy as a career?

A: I chose pharmacy because it's a field I've wanted to be part of since I was a child. My mother also wanted to be a pharmacist and never got the chance to go to school because she worked for her family. She taught me about the field and I grew to love it even more.

Q: Tell us about a classroom, lab or clinical experience that you enjoyed.

A: I got to volunteer at a flu clinic for Wayne State. It was my first time giving vaccinations and it was such a wonderful experience. I got to make conversation with the patients one-on-one, discussing the vaccine and even administering it. I felt like I was really helping them understand more about the vaccine as well as making them comfortable with the process, especially with those afraid of needles.

Q: If you had 24 hours free from work and school obligations, what would you do?

A: I would spend time with my family, helping them around the house or with whatever else they need. I am one of five children and I grew up very close to my family, so I love spending any time I get with them. I would also find time in my day to volunteer at my church. I still volunteer now, even while in school, but I would love to give more back to a community that helped me so much.

Q: Share a recent accomplishment that made you proud of yourself.

A: My White Coat Ceremony was a very proud moment in my life. I feel like all my hard work in school as well as in experience have paid off and I am finally going to be able to live my dream and use my talents and knowledge to help those around me and those in need.

Q: What are your goals?

A: My career aspiration is to fulfill my role as a pharmacist as best as I can, no matter what the setting may be. I also aspire to be as approachable as possible so that patients can come talk to me whenever they need anything, such as advice, clarification or direction.

Q: Anything else we should know?

A: I am one of five who run a business - a small liquor store located on 25 Mile and Shelby Road. For my whole life, my family has helped run the store, and we all put in so much time and dedication to make it run as best as possible. I've been in this business since I was around 15, and being able to work with my family and see all the new items released and the excitement from our customers just makes me happy and proud that we run such a great business. I hope to take what I've learned in this business and apply it to my new career in pharmacy.
