The Pharmacy Class of 2015 celebrates residency assignments

Students participating in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists' (ASHP) Resident Matching Program experienced their own form of March Madness as they learned where they will spend the next few years accumulating more knowledge and honing their skills to pursue their careers in pharmacy.

Richard L. Slaughter, professor and associate dean of Pharmacy, said, "We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the participants. They will represent our program well."

The ASHP Resident Matching Program places applicants into pharmacy residency training positions in locations throughout the United States. It is administered by National Matching Services Inc., which was established in 1985 and specializes in the development and administration of Matching Programs.

About 69 percent of EACPHS students will remain in Michigan. The students heading out of state will practice pharmacy at hospitals or universities in Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Milwaukee, WI; Pittsburgh, PA; and Portland, OR.
