Wayne State earned the Top Leadership Award for consistently setting a great example, working together as an effective team and building a positive culture in the chapter.

"We earned that award for a four-part leadership series presented to LKS members that was open to other students as well, with Olivia Neitzke as speaker," said Professor of Pharmacy Practice Mary Beth O’Connell, who serves as the group’s faculty advisor.

Wayne State LKS also took home the Top Service Event Award (Women's Health Initiative). This award honors a chapter that was not only creative and innovative when planning and carrying out a service event but also successful.

Funded by National American Board of Pharmacies/American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy District IV student award, the group's #PlanA initiative trained student pharmacists to conduct seminars on reproductive health, held weekly trivia sessions on main campus to encourage reproductive health knowledge, and provided free condoms and pregnancy tests during weekly reproductive health seminars.

“The LKS sisters continue to share their talents and time, going beyond average once again to achieve national recognition for their excellence in improving health outcomes for women and promoting women in pharmacy,” said O’Connell. “I am so proud of these amazing women. Our future is bright as they continue their journeys to becoming outstanding pharmacists.”
