Endowments and expendable funds

Gifts to create an endowed or expendable fund have minimum giving requirements and can be designated to support the area that matters most to you.

Endowed fund

Gifts to create or enhance endowed funds have a lasting impact on students, the program and the profession. Endowed funds can be created in your name, in honor of your family, in memory of a loved one, or named in recognition of something important to you.  Endowed gifts are invested as principal, and the earnings on the original investment provide the ongoing support for the area you designate. As a result, these gifts have an impact that continues indefinitely.

Expendable fund

Gifts to create an expendable fund can be in your name, in honor of your family or a loved one and can be designated to support a program, research, or a scholarship of your choice. Gifts are normally spent within three years. Additional gifts ensure that the fund continues to support the area that matters most to you.

Please contact Jon Goldstein at 313-577-1095 or to learn more about creating a fund.

Estate or deferred gifts

By providing a future gift to through your financial and estate plans, you can make a significant impact on students, the profession and the community. Planned gifts such as bequests or charitable trusts can be a beneficial way to provide for a future gift to the college. In addition to supporting the college, these gifts can:

  • Provide for you or your loved ones.
  • Entitle you to charitable income and/or gift or estate tax deductions.
  • Enable you to leave a legacy for future generations of leaders and professionals.
